So today was results day – the day all A-level students both dread and look forward to! Japan Society would like to congratulate everyone who get their results today and all of you who now have your places for getting into the University of Sheffield! We know you’ll love the university and have a great time! With the new academic session at the uni creeping ever closer, we figured now would be a great time to tell you about some of the things planned for September and October!
Check out our events page to see the poster (which will also be included in your welcome packs)!
Don’t forget to find our stall at the Activities Festival on the 26th September to get your Japan Society membership! We look forward to meeting you there! ♥
Sorry for the delayed update, as some of you may know, we now have a new committee for the 2012-2013 academic year.

We all love the society, and we really want to build on what our past committee members have done so far. If you have any ideas or opinions, please don’t hesitate to contact us! This is not just our society, it is yours as well!!
Also, we have uploaded the new committee’s photos and description.
We will be updating the website more frequently soon.
We hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and a happy New Year, and we hope that you all do well in your exams! I’ve had a few emails asking when things will be starting back up and I am pleased to say that we’ll be starting tandem as usual when the second semester starts and we’ll be planning the events for the next few months! You’ll all receive an email to tell you exactly when tandem will be starting so don’t worry about trying to find out dates and days etc. If you haven’t already joined us and are thinking about doing so, please don’t hesitate to email us at:
japansoc [@] sheffield [dot] ac [dot] uk. if you have any questions or thoughts.
Well it was certainly a busy event, but we ended up with a fantastic turnout at the Activities Fair! Over the span of five hours, we accrued about 300 members, some new, some returning. A big thank you to all those who helped out, and especially those who joined today!
If you didn’t get around to joining us, or simply forgot about the Activities Fair today, worry not! You can join us at pretty much any society event! Keep an eye on Facebook and Twitter to see when those will be.
As for our first event, we’re going to have an Intro Party next Friday! Expect more details soon!
Well, things are somewhat empty here at the moment, but it’s all gradually coming along!
If all goes as planned, the Japan Society is going to have a stronger and more noticeable presence on the internet than it did before, via Facebook, twitter, and ideally here as well.
Keep an eye out!
